He doesn't know why, but it makes him twitch, the way Kisuke examines his chain. It's weird enough that he even has one right now, and it doesn't help that it seems to be something Kisuke doesn't expect. Dean swallows it down along with everything else, though, when Kisuke explains what's happening.
Even then, Dean can't say he entirely agrees. His soul didn't get up to anything good in the decades it spent in Hell, but it sure got used, and it was nearly all duress. He's not gonna argue the point, however, not when there's every chance that the only way he gets topside again is if Kisuke is kind enough to drag his corpse back up that ladder.
So he nods and squares his feet, ready to face a crazy man in a pair of green goddamn pajamas. "Awesome."
