"The cafe's been closed since four, so," Kisuke says, which might as well have been a 'yes.' Allowing Dean to enter, he follows him in with his eyes, before reaching beside the door for a sign that reads 'NO. GO HOME.' which he hangs neatly on the knob before closing the shop's back door and locking it behind himself.
"You're tachy," he says, nodding toward Dean's chest. "You only get so many heartbeats in your life, you should think about how you want to use them. I'd tell you to come back when you were doing better, but I get the feeling that if I said things like that, a person like you would never find a better opportunity than right now. Instead, I'll just tell you to calm down. There's nothing to be afraid of here. The only thing that exists under my roof is opportunity."
Crouching by one of the tatami mats by the wall, after a few moments' jiggling, he manages to get his fingers under the edges to lift it, and the subflooring, off of the square hole in the ground beneath it
"I guess you made up your mind, though. You don't come all the way to death's doorstep just to say 'no.'"
